japanese manga is leagues beyond korean writing in this arena. i can remember getting into japanese storylines twenty years ago in high school when i realized the character development was superior to anything i had ever seen in american “cartoons”. this is still pretty much the case.

i’d like to see korean comics evolve, but this is not an easy process and leapfrogging doesn’t work all that well in art. however, collaboration between the countries does and should work.

I guess I just don’t see how this is a bad thing. The combination of good Korea production and good Japanese writing should be embraced by consumers world-wide. I don’t see who wouldn’t want another Old Boy-esk masterpiece..
