Jake Jang,
Come back and visit us when you find your testicles. You fu*king piker!
You can’t dazzle ‘em with design, and now you won’t bamboozle ‘em with T & A?
Can’t wait to see the new Scoupe.
If they started charging fair value for new cars in Korea I might actually consider going for the cars.
SomeguyinKorea:
It will be interesting to see how the price gouging argument works out. Glad I lease!
railway,
I just buy used cars. I got myself a very good car that cost well over 30 million won new just a few years ago for next to nothing.
SomeguyinKorea:
I am upper-crust, wonderbread, spoiled expat. That would not align with the credo I swore to uphold.
railway,
One of the two cars we have was bought new. Waste of money because we’ve bought two used cars since and the total cost hasn’t come close to the price we paid for the new one.
someguyinkorea, care to share any tips on buying used cars? Thanks.
Yeah, Koreans don’t like used stuff.
>>When we look at motor shows overseas, the foreign brands did not have models with provocative clothing.
Have they EVER been to Europe? This is year’s Geneva had the best looking girls I remember in years! Masterati booth especially had this one girl that made me wanna sell my house and buy a Masterati right now!
“someguyinkorea, care to share any tips on buying used cars? Thanks.”
Way too many mechanical problems to check for, but the basic would be to check if the oil is leaking from the engine and the struts, suspension (drive 60km/h, break, and see if the car rocks back and forth…if so, it needs new struts)). You also need to check if the hood/fenders/bumpers look like they have been repaired (signs of an accident)…
Do left and right turns (slower and higher speeds) to see if the car handles well, or if it makes any strange noises.
So, the best advice I can give you is… Buy from a dealer you know (or from a relative of one of your friends who is a dealer) or buy from someone you know who is selling (offer them the same amount a dealer will give them).
Make sure you check with the DMV if there are any parking or speed tickets that need to be paid on the car before you buy it.
Oh, and if you want to buy from a dealer, negotiate knowning his asking price is 25 to 40% over what he paid.
Boycott, anyone?
thanks, someguyinkorea
