the bank only paid for half of the trip expenses! HALF! What kinda cheap-o bank are they running here?

Maybe the bank is sending them there so they won’t be able to run away.

“the bank only paid for half of the trip expenses!”

Maybe they just paid for the trip up, but the girls have to find their own way back.

Hey, why haven’t we seen anything on the North Korean measles outbreak here at the Hole? My employer uses a private travel advisory firm, who alerted us that the Norks experienced a measles outbreak in November that killed four and infected 3000. KJI notified WHO and ICRC just this month and requested millions of vaccine doses.

True story, or is KJI selling this stuff on the black market?

Well, if true, it’s a step up from black market marlboros or counterfeit money.

As for why they might do that, they tried to import a “machine” from Japan to produce the vaccines but the Japanese authorities thought they were going to use it to produce biological weapons of mass destruction.

The measles outbreak is true, but I doubt Kim Jong-il would sell REAL medicine on any black market when he likely has plenty of fake stuff to peddle.
