Marmot on CBS

Yes, my fat white ass was on the CBS Superbowl Pregame Show. The other person interviewed from our office was Elizabeth Shim, our assistant editor.  And no, I didn’t meet Katie Couric.

I didn’t see the CBS Pregame Show, but based on this description I think Michael Powell’s FCC is on to something with its indecency sanctions against CBS. I mean, CBS could just as easily have shown us your fat white face, but noooo…

What on earth does Seoul Selection have to do with the Superbowl?

Well, since you ask, dogbertt, I did a piece in SEOUL a while back on the Hines Ward craze and its impact on Korean society. CBS, meanwhile, was in South Korea doing their Superbowl feature on Hines Ward, and as fate would have it, our magazine is distributed at the hotel they were staying at. They read the piece, called up our office in the morning and said they were coming in to interview us. Funny thing is, after the interview, the reporters tell us, “Oh, we didn’t tell you this because we didn’t want to make you nervous, but this is for the Superbowl pregame show.”

I’m sure you were great…hope to be able to see your interview online. Sorry for getting the name of your magazine wrong.

I didn’t know the Steelers were in the Superbowl this year.

I didn’t know the Steelers were in the Superbowl this year.

They weren’t, which is why a lot of folk were wondering why the heck CBS was running the piece.

Seems Yonhap liked the story. Well, at least nobody has accused Seoul Selection of “disgracing Korea” this time around. Not yet, anyway.

I saw Marmot! I emailed him bout it too! HAHAHH! I am in TX right now watching the game and have been watching all day (I’m a Bears fan). I was shooked - here they were - talking bout Hines ward and the RoK then all the sudden It cuts to “Robert Kohler - Seoul Times” who commented bout the korean word for non-ethnic koreans translates to “umpure blood” or something. He was on for a whole 3 seconds. I was like - HEY! I know that guy! (Well, his blog, hahahha!)

You should have seen Robert guys, he wore a green butterfly collar suit, had a rapper “grill” and a giant pink feather in his yellow pimp hat!

    ;-)

Seoul Times? Please tell me you read the caption wrong. Don’t tell me they fucked up the name of our magazine.

Right now, pregame footage showing Robert is harder to find than a Lone Star exec in a Korean courtroom. Give us a link…

Yeap - “Seoul Times” as I remember. In fact, when your clip came up I was thinking “Marmot works for the Seoul Times?” I’m surfing the net for the video too. Let you all know if I find it.

Hey, I saw the interview on T.V. yesterday morning just before the game! I noticed the Seoul Times title too but didn’t think much of it… :)

    Neither did CBS, apparently…

But remember, let’s trust them on their criticism of George Bush and the war in Iraq! Bush LIED!

I viewed the segment here in Ohio and immediately thought that CBS owes you at least seven more seconds to achieve Warhol fame. It was quick. In fact, it was over before it dawned on me that, “Hey, I know that guy.”

Congratulations on making it to the big time, Robert, if only for 3 seconds!

Next year, try for the halftime show!
