As my mom likes to say, this takes a set of brass balls: the Foreign Ministry has apparently warned USFK commander Gen. Burwell Bell against making “undiplomatic” remarks such as the ones he issued earlier this month in regards to possible delays in moving the U.S. garrison in Yongsan to Pyeongtaek:
“The comment (made by Gen. Bell) could produce unnecessary misunderstandings, so we delivered an indirect message asking him to be cautious about making comments,” the ministry official said on condition of anonymity.
Could produce “unnecessary misunderstandings?” As opposed to what? Waiting until Rumsfeld got sacked to leak to the Korean press that you might delay the transfer by another five years to 2013?

The message was so indirect he decided to leak it to the press.
Henceforth, only necessary misunderstandings will take place.
But isn’t an unnecessary misunderstanding equivalent to a necessary understanding once you boil the Corea out of it?
