Since making the jump to WP 2.1, I’ve been plagued all day with account suspensions due to high resource demand. Anyone else experiencing this since updating?
UPDATE: I believe it was the photo album plugin that was farging things up. I’ve disabled it and things appear to be running better, but let me know if you are still getting error/suspension messages. Thanks.
UPDATE 2: OK, now it appears it was Brian’s Latest Comments. If you use Brian’s Latest Comments, be sure to update to version 1.5.8. Previous versions do not appear to be WP 2.1 compatible.
Meanwhile, be sure to check out Wordpress’s list of which plugins are/aren’t compatible with the latest version of Wordpress.

Yep. Once since I have been on about 20 minutes ago.
I was going to do a post or two but I think I will wait until tomorrow.
1.5.8 is the latest version of Brian’s Latest Comments? I just checked my plugins and it says I’m using version 1.5.9, which I downloaded and installed a while ago. I can’t get to his page right now, probably getting too much traffic from all the wordpress users trying to update.
I seem to have problems. The site is very slow and I can not leave comments.
Robert, I can not seem to leave comments anymore and the site is somewhat sluggish now.
Test posting from me. It does not seem to work.
Brian’s Latest Comments 1.5.10 is listed as not working, but 1.5.8 is listed as good. I’m also using 1.5.9 and may upgrade tonight… or may not.
1.5.9 works… but ?php get_links does not, so far.
Yeah, things just feel weird since upgrading to 2.1. Slow loads, white pages, problems with the cache. To be expected, I guess. It’ll probably take some time for plugin/theme authors to update their stuff.
This could be my connection, but I noticed that on this blog it’s taking a long time for the comments to diplay after I click the ‘comments’ link under a post. I’m going to wait a while before I upgrade.
Ok, get_links is fine; link cats are now merged with post cats. In the process, link cat ids have changed, so any link cat being called by get_links will need to be changed.
Comments have been loading slow for me here for several weeks, but I thought it was just b/c a) I’m in the States, and b) the SQL DB must be getting pretty cumbersome.
I upgraded to 2.1 right away as trackbacks/pingbacks I send do not seem to work. Still don’t; I left one for this post but it’s not showing.
Going back to the previous version would probably require a DB restore due to the links/posts cats change.
Did you ever get to thinking these problems might be the host?
