For what they may be worth, I have a decent size collection of photos I took when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chungcheong-bugdo in 1975~77 and then about Korea in 1977~79. They can be seen at http://www.seoulman.smugmug.com/gallery/823675
2003 I have seen an extended photo exhibition in a Busan subway station about the outskirts of the city. Showing the simple farmer houses build out of loam and wood in the 80s. The same places where apartment buildings stands in a row nowadays. This was only 20 years ago. And the color of the photos was vanishing already. The above mentioned set shows photos taken more than 50 years ago. And the quality is better.
