Yeah, but who doesn’t like smoking pot and banging teenage girls in SE Asia?

by Robert Koehler on December 4, 2006

in Korean Tabloid Crap, South Korea

According to a study conducted by a Korean women’s group, Korean men have a thing for drugs and underage girls when they visit SE Asia, reports the Seoul Shinmun.

The 88-page study, conducted on the behalf of the National Assembly Committee on Gender Equality, looked at the sexual activities of Korean men in Thailand and the Philippines by conducting in-depth interviews with some 116 people, including 94 women working in the local “entertainment” industry.

The report warned that Korea’s image was being seriously hurt because Korean men were habitually doing drugs prior to having sex and seeking out teenage girls with whom to party.

A Thai woman interviewed said one reason Korean men are criticized is drugs. According to the woman, Korean visitors have a thing for drugs such as marijuana and hash, and that many of the backpackers and travelers who repeatedly come to Thailand do drugs.

The report said older Korean males prefer young girls. Their preference for “pure” girls with little sexual experience is based on the baseless belief—itself grounded in yin-yang principles—that sex with young girls would rejuvenate them.

It gets worse. Some men apparently treat local women “like animals,” forcing women to engage in “perverted sex” or have sex during their periods. Women complained of Korean men not using condoms and engaging in violent behavior while drunk.

With more and more Korean students heading to places like the Philippines to study English, even teenagers and men in their early 20s are getting hooked on prostitution. The report said that in the case of language students and overseas students, some would visit prostitutes on occasion, while others would maintain relationships with local women or even live with them as if they were a wife. Koreans preferred young girls or women their own age, and some Korean university students were even procuring the services of same-sex prostitutes.

The head of the group that conducted the study said that sex tourism to Thailand the Philippines likely increased with the Special Law on Prostitution going into effect in 2004, and that the government and NGOs should work together to ensure that the human rights of women of other countries—and underage girls in particular—are not violated.

Interesting find here especially in light of the whole ordeal with the porn0-teacher.

Perhaps for the lawyerly types – to what extent can the Korean system prosecute/persecute people for doing things which are legal (or in this situation, illegal) in other countries, yet illegal in Korea?

The other situation showed that it can happen even when they engage in legal activities abroad. Just seems a little ad hoc to me….

Here is a story from a recent incident in the Philippines:

A friend of mine just came back from Puerto Galera (18 Nov) and told me a story that could be the cover up of the year. Supposedly a 12 year old girl was working in one of the clubs, taken to a room by a Korean who killed her by slitting her throat. A team of investigators from Manila showed up and all of a sudden the body of the girl was found by the side of a road. The body had stayed in the room for three days and moving it to an isolated road was to protect the Korean in making it appear to be an accident. None of this was publicized at all, local or national papers. Could this be a cover-up because of the increased Korean investment in Puerto Galera? Has anyone else heard this story as the person I heard it from has left the country? The suspicion in Puerto Galera is that money can do wonders, even hide a murder.

The story came from this site.

I’m getting the impression from this string of sex-related ‘outrages’ on the Korean peninsula that Koreans believe that the outrage lies not in the action but the publicity of the action. Pornography is a very public display, and is therefore scorned, while the neighborhood double barber pole happy place is discreet and hidden, and is therefore ok.

So, remember kids, do whatever you want but for Korea’s sake don’t tell anybody!

Having traveled to the Philippines several times recently, I can attest to the fact that Koreans are buying up properties in Angeles City, Manila, Cebu and Puerta Galera and these areas are turning into Korean Sex Towns. There are more than 30 Korean kareoke bars in Manila alone. My Korean and local friends there tell me these establishments provide both underage girls and drugs to the free spending Koreans. At least three GRO (prostitute) bars are owned/operated by Koreans in Angeles and even the best known bar in Manila for freelancers and drugs (The LA Cafe) now has “Korean Only” areas designated in the upstairs area.

Adjeshi has discovered life outside of the glass houses & room salons and he’s throwing a lot of cash to build his new 588 in the Philippines. They’ll probably continue on until the Korean wives find out what’s really going on during these so-called “business trips”. Asiana and Korean Air are sure glad the govt clamped down on the Ho’s. Just try getting a flight to Manila now.

Just read a story the other day saying that the AIDs rate in people over 50 jumped %30…although the rate here overall is still low, that’s still a huge number, and it ain’t the expats runnin’ around fuckin’ ajumma’s.

I don’t think anyone is going to argue with that. And also I think the Korean preference for young girls has nothing to do with yin-yang principles or Chinese/Korean culture.

This type of thing is just a bunch of bullshit…

“The report said older Korean males prefer young girls. Their preference for “pure” girls with little sexual experience is based on the baseless belief—itself grounded in yin-yang principles—that sex with young girls would rejuvenate them.”

Koreans do not believe that. Not being able to control your desire to have sex with a child is a psychological problem and it’s not not grounded in any principle or belief.

Oh no, you see pawikirogi, whites admit to doing such things as smoking dope and screwing SE Asian girls. It’s not a big secret. We are morally weak compared to you Korean men. However, Koreans are so morally upstanding that they would never do such things! Even if they did do such things from time-to-time, it’s always the white peoples or Korean womens (or someones elses) fault. Koreans are the victims of such Western ways of thinking don’t forget. It’s ok for you Korean men to act in porn and break Korean laws in other lands, but Korean women can’t because as you know, boys will be boys so it’s ok. Korean society can’t let their women get out of line, you gotta beat them down to keep them from getting out of the house. Ruin their lives like good citizens/netizens do best. The Korean gov’t was supposed to crack down on Korean men’s sexual misadventures, but then they realized men are above that kind of thing. Yup, prosecute then persecute the Korean women. All sarcasm aside, does anyone remember a couple of surveys that were conducted last year? I will admit I’m not 100% sure on this, but I believe one ranked Korea 48th out of 50 countries for women’s rights and another ranked Korean women near the bottom of the scale in social mobility in Asia. I guess what I’m trying to say is, is anyone really suprised by this study? But in the end, we all know western countries are far worse than Korea for this kinda thing, after all they learned it from us!

I was thinking…Do you think the reporter totally misunderstood the reasons why the prostitutes complain of the drug use? I’d say it has more to do with not being able to ‘do’ as many customers a night than what the article alludes to. A guy on drugs won’t be able to get it up or simply won’t ejaculate as fast as she’d like (if at all), so every extra minute she spends trying to get him up, or off, is a missed opportunity to strike a deal with another customer. The faster a transaction is complete, the better it is for her.

By the way, I think it’s sad that Korean college students who suspect they might be gay need to go as far as the Pillipines to find out.

Pawi’s got a one-size-fits-all quote for every Marmot post, but how can we be sure he didn’t make that one up, like he usually does in his always failed, often off-topic, attempts to attack whitey?

It may be lost on Pawi that, as in today’s offering, the Marmot’s coverage of prostitution issues in Korea is always based on Korean or other countries’ media reports of the same subject — many times to those media outlets’ credit.

To the literate and context-aware, this hardly counts as telling us “on a weekly basis that korean women are whores and that korean men are johns.”

Troll-tending aside, my reaction to this report is:
-Is Korean behavior in SE Asia so bad as to require a parliamentary study?
-Isn’t there better use of parliament’s time, say, in dealing with the bad behavior of the worst ajossis on the planet: the DPRK regime?
-South Korea’s 2004 ban on prostitution appears to have been enacted with no thought about the consequences at home or abroad.
-What can a government do about dodgy overseas behavior by private citizens, particularly in the cases where local laws are not broken?

Maybe this will cheer you up Pawi:

MANILA, Philippines — A young U.S. Marine faces 40 years in jail after being convicted today of rape in a landmark case that has become a symbol for women’s rights and national sovereignty in the Philippines.

Makati Regional Trial Court Judge Benjamin Pozon rejected Lance Cpl. Daniel Smith’s claim that the woman was a willing partner, saying she was too drunk to have consented to having sex.

Three other Marines were acquitted of complicity for allegedly cheering on Smith in the back of a moving van.

As the verdict was delivered, cheers and applause broke out in the courtroom, and the 23-year-old woman began weeping as supporters embraced her. “I’m sad that three were acquitted, but I’m also happy because one was convicted,” the young woman, who is Filipino, told ABS-CBN television in a telephone interview.

But as the convicted Marine was exiting the courtroom, a scuffle broke out between U.S. Embassy guards and Philippines police as both tried to take Smith away, underscoring the territorial dimension in the case which has consistently made front pages in the past year with lurid details. Filipino guards eventually secured the Marine’s custody.

The U.S. Embassy had retained custody of Smith during the prosecution, in line with a treaty governing foreign troops in the former American colony after the closing of U.S. bases in the early 1990s. Although the joint military pact paved the way for U.S. counterterrorism training and was credited with helping local forces make gains against Muslim extremists, some Filipino groups have protested the 1998 pact, claiming it gives U.S. servicemen favorable treatment…..

This link is from Houston Chronicle http://www.chron.com/disp/stor.....76919.html,

but I just saw the story covered on BBC World News, 1/2 hour on selected US PBS outlets Monday evening, so maybe bbc.com has it covered.

There must be balance! Only when 40 Koreans get one-year sentences for sex offenses committed in the Philippines can there be “satisfaction”.

‘can we be sure pawi didn’t make the statement up?’

didn’t make up anything. the statement is an exact quote from hardyandtiny. of course, hardyandtiny is now backtracking telling us that his use of the word ‘whores’ didn’t mean prostitutes but rather, the women he sleeps with who just happen to be whores in his mind. ain’t that nice?

i’ll be sticking to my interpretation which is more likely to be the truth.

the truth from pawi:

to me, korea is a sick society and getting sicker. that means it’s going to be just like japan, a nation full of:

1. prostitutes (korea already there)

2. sexually perverted men (almost there, korea)

3. women who’d rather stay unmarried while dreaming of marrying a foreigner (who will be korea’s yonsama?)

4. which will eventually lead to the disapperance of the japanese people. (now starting to happen to you, korea. will you wake up in time?)

of course, the interesting question about the eventual disappearance of the japanese and koreans is, why is this happening to white folk as well? i’ll admit it to you now: white folk* in general don’t strike me as sexually sick like the japanese and koreans do. so, why are their birth rates so low that either they don’t replace their populations (italy) or just barely do so (europe and white america)?

i think the answer lies with the complete liberation of women to the point that they don’t see the point of a uterus.

Japanese women who idolize Yonsama are mostly married and way past their child-bearing age, so their taste in men has no bearing on future population statistics.

According to this site, the birth rates in 2005 for Japan and South Korea are 1.26 and 1.08, respectively. Since I don’t see the Japanese emigrating in flocks to Canada, US, etc., I would think Korea is in deeper waters than Japan in terms of future population decline.

In this case, the character of the person in question is very relevant to the truth of his statements. Chronic liars tend to lend their words to the judgment. Only way to deal with him is to verbally browbeat him and force more foaming at the mouth so that all can see the foolishness of his tirades. Mock him, verbally abuse him, question his manhood, but touch the facts because his integrity doesn’t allow him to view that context. After all, don’t you know that good king nulji maripkan devoured human flesh? And, seriously, it was nulji who set up Korea’s patrilineal form of succession…what an idiot, both nuljis.

‘yonsama!’ whined two cents

i’ll bet he really pisses you off; not only are japanese women swooning over some french guy, now they’re swooning over some korean guy too.

‘korea worse off…’

yeah, korea always worst off in your mind, jap guy. it seems to me that japan and korea will both meet the same fate.

‘glenn beck…’

is a racist turd who speaks softly. of course, a little 120 pound weakling like dogbert would think otherwise.

Pawi does have the merit of giving us all insight into what people are really thinking when they are really not thinking.

one last thing: i forgot to add a ‘yes, but’ to the following:

‘it seems to me that japan and korea will meet the same fate.’

there’s more a of chance that koreans might allow actual immigration to their country than there is for the japananese doing the same. immigration is the main reason that america’s population isn’t shrinking and the koreans should consider this avenue to replenish it’s own population. of course, the koreans need to be smart about immigration and not allow immigrants who have few commonalities with koreans. that means no chinese, indians, or pakistanis.

btw, the japanese answer to their shrinking poplation is to build robots to replace humans. must be why they’re hard at work on creating a life-like sex robot. god i hope korea doesn’t choose the same path.
