And anyway, this is not the type of bird flu that will easily jump to humans... And yes, eat your kimchi along with the chicken; despite the ridicule over exaggerated claims, it does contain some vitamin C and antioxidant enzymes that will give your body a slight boost in its fight against invading microbes. A final note -- it's jarring to see "Captain Trips" as the name of a deadly disease here, i'd never heard that it was used that way in that novel -- as any of us old-line Deadheads can tell you, it was an early nickname for Jerry Garcia, declared on the GD's first album in 1967 -- he later came to really hate it, as every hack journalist writing about the band turned it into a meaningless cliche...
