Years are better or worse for danpung, according to heat, humidity and rainfall, and this year was not one of the good ones. A lot of trees seemed to go straight from green to brown. But that photo is beautiful, and some parts of Kyunghee campus look like that… Out at Sogni-san last Friday, walking the Beobju-sa entranceway which is famous for its red and gold maples… brown was the rule.
It is definitely late for peak color. It varies year to year, of course, but as I recall, the colors in Seoul usually peaked at around the end of October or beginning of November. Overall, Korea and Japan have the best spring/autumn foliage, but for fall color, nothing beats a huge North American sugar maple with tricolored red, orange, and yellow leaves although a tricolored blackgum tree comes close.

Doesn’t it seem like the leaves are staying green longer this year? Anyway, great photo.
They seem to like their building white.
Not a bad photo, but I came here looking for ways to demand certain favors in exchange for 과외 from 철수’s mother. Anyway you can help me with that?

How come Tokyo doesn’t become like this in the fall?
I guess I have to go all the way down to Kyoto this month.
Beautiful!
