Well, ROKon Magazine this weekend went to the new happening place in Itaewon, B1, and had a great time. While there, we managed to snap a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment.
A few shots are after the jump.

More useless blather from The ROKon Hole…
Actually, I was going to ask, it would be nice if you could keep posts like this to ROKon. Thanks.
not a problem
won’t happen again
But then who is going to enlighten all of us?
I’ve been living vicariously through Shelton’s exploits in the underground scene. I wish I were just 1/10th as cool as that krazy karisma kat~!
All butterfaces except for this one, maybe.
Thanks for the low down on the ho’ down.
Did Tarantino score?
finally figgered out why you can’t seem to pick the girls at your parties, shelton.
Are these christian-only gatherings? Or can normal people go as well?
Finally I had to register for this site as I had to comment.
I absolutely mother friggin’ hate Shelton Baumgartner!!!!!!
His submissions scream:
DO NOT READ ME. I’M NOTHING MORE THAN BORING TRITE ABOUT MY AUTHOR’S LIFE THAT IS NO DIFFERENT, NO MORE WORTH READING, AND NO MORE SPECIAL THAN ANY OTHER FOREIGN INHABITANT OF KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the Marmot. This is a great site that informs us lowly waegukin. Shelton’s crap is a blight on it. It’s nothing more than crap that belongs on a personal blog that the author’s seriously excitement deprived friends and family will read.
I’ve had more exciting experiences on the crapper than Shelton has written entire diatribes about!
Robert, please stop allowing Shelton on your blog!
“Please, please, please”- James Brown
I mean, for chrissakes he got a whole post about some club that let him DJ one night. Was it worth reading?
Well, is it worth me writing a whole article about my vigorous session of masturbation last Wednesday morning?
NO!
I’ve DJ’ed at bars before. Did I even bother telling my close friends about it? No!
Because it was just a simple experience.
Shelton looks at it like he bedded Zhang Ziyi for cryin’ out loud!
come one people. you know we are all just jealous cus 1) we don’t DJ 2) we don’t have the ambition to start an cutting edge local rag 3) we don’t hang out with hot foreign babes 4) we don’t get to rub shoulders with miss tiff (i have done so in the past and this is NOTHING to be jealous about).
all in all all us waygooks try to carve out our own little niche here in korea, and most of us give up after a week. shelton, obviously, hasn’t given up, and he isn’t afraid to raise a banner. reminiscent of the neon signs that kim jong ill sets up on the moutains just over the border
Okay, but is it the least bit interesting for a blog that’s been built on informing waeguks and others about the political scene and what’s going on for us in the world?
Not at all!
Is it interesting for the regular waeguk who actually has a social life?
Not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I understand that Shelton is going through the ‘Yuk, yuk, who cares what people say on Marmots. Any news is good news, right?’
But there’s a fine line between trying to build brand recognition for one’s venture and then disrespecting the owner and audience of the environment he’s trying to solicit in. And, at the end of the day, it is solicitation, regardless of the fact that he may feel that he has earned a pass because of his past blog postings here.
Good luck with your venture, Shelton. But I don’t come here to watch any frontdoor, sidedoor, or backdoor efforts for one to abuse their blogging priviledges to promote their venture.
I hope that you learn to develop some dignity and better respect for tactfully marketing what you believe in, but until then I really hope that you can at least show some respect to the Marmot, your fellow bloggers here, and the readers.
Corey brought up a great point that Shelton’s posts, as of late, are just about promoting his magazine.
Free advertisement.
I’ve got a friend who has given up reading the Marmot because of Shelton’s drivel.
I’m still a dedicated reader, but I scroll right past any of Shelton’s crap as everyone should.
If I wanted to see an editor of an expat magazine DJ at a club, I’d go to The Bar in Sinchon. According to their website, the editor of DDD magazine spins there every Thursday.

Tripe at best, shameless self promotion at worst.
I have been here too long.
White people now look really strange to me. My God, our…. skulls…. are…. so…. narrow!
