Roh and Lee Myung-bak!? I know Korean politicians pursue some pretty strange alliances when they think it's to their advantage, but somehow, I just don't see Lee agreeing to that.

One of article analyzed 2007 presidential election and also speculated break up of Uri party under several scenarios in monthly JoongAng, August 2006 issue .

In the article stated that Roh was so much regretted that he pointed Goh as prime minister and Goh is also regret that he had work for Roh. So there will be very little chance for Goh to join the Uri. But the most interesting speculation was that Roh will form a new party solely with "Chin-Roh, Roh-ppa, pro-Roh" to allies with Lee Myung-bak. This alliance of new party will give Roh to favorably maintain his voices over 2nd generation of Uri party and as well give a chance to win over Park Geun-hye, GNP.
The article also says that it is the democratic party who desires to see the Uri party to break up at most. So they could get most Uri shares of Jeolla-do.
