Thanks for the feedback. I may continue this feature, possibly in the same format, or in a different, more "value-added" manner. As a Marmot's Hole regular of a couple of years, I appreciate this site's function, too, and how it's grown and developed.

Back on thread guys,

I have made Marmot my first stop for Korean news, and frankly seeing the headlines set up like this really makes it that much easier for me to stay in Marmot land.

I have really enjoyed watching this website grow. Some of us expats thought about this kind of thing back in the mid 1990s, but the technology wasn't there yet. This website really holds water for me in representing the complexities of living in ole Hansong.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Sewing,

You just picked a really hot day for news in Korean newspapers is all, one fully with controversial topics. I think your request was more than reasonable. gbevers and I just feel passionately albeit quite differently about Japan's discourse, nothing personal. What else are two Americans that are in Korea to do on a Friday night? :P Now it's Saturday night, and I'm still doing the same thing. :(

Don't worrying, Sewing. I have said what I wanted to say, even though it is full of grammar mistakes.

Take care. You too, Remort.

Thanks for respecting my wishes, guys, but on second thought, I feel like a schmuck now. By all means, have at it, if you wish. I opened up the topic by posting those headlines along with all the rest. I don't want to be a killjoy here, and in hindsight, I guess I was being one.

I enjoyed hearing gbevers' alternative views, I'm sure that many share his opinions, as do many share my viewpoints. Thanks for the exchange. I'll observe sewings' request to cease further discussion on this thread, by offering gbevers the last word (hopefully on Japan's current and future discourse, rather than its past).

Good day.

It's just that I see where this is going to go, and it's going to get tedious, and as it's my thread, I don't want my email inbox filling up with a hundred notifications of posts from you or Remort as you argue with each other over this highly contentious issue.

To be fair, since Remort wrote the first comment on this issue, you may have the last word, if you wish.

Enough discussion, Sewing? Fine. We certainly wouldn't want to fill up Robert's blog with discussion, would we?
