According to the Dong-A, we had more than a few prosecutions for election law violations from last spring’s local elections:
Among the 233 prosecuted successful candidates, there is one governor, 39 local chiefs, 43 lawmakers of six largest cities, and 150 local lawmakers. In other words, one out of 16.6 elected candidates is under indictment. Especially, the rate is highest among local chiefs, which is one in 5.9 people.
It seems that the Grand National Party took the biggest hit this time, which means that Uri might have a chance to prove it is not a doormat by picking up a few seats.

by-election shurely, or does the GNP have a bye this week…
Yeah, yeah. I always get those two mixed up.
In my defense, I will point out that bye-election is an acceptable spelling.
If Wikipedia says it, it must be true, right?
