So much for Seoul monitoring its food aid

by Robert Koehler on September 7, 2006

A North Korean defector has shot video of North Korean troops guarding and transporting sacks of rice marked “Republic of Korea,” indicating that South Korean food aid might not be reaching its supposed target.  What could make the video particularly damaging is that it was supposedly shot after South Korean monitors had “confirmed” that the food aid was received by local distribution centers, meaning that either South Korean officials lied about where the food was going or that the North Korean military confiscated the food once the monitors left.

Lessee… You’re basically saying that either the South Korean officials (possibly) took a bribe and lied to cover it up, or else acted incompetently? Yes yes… very nice, but how is this news?

Of course this is the government that Roh and the Left trust so much to do the right thing.

They lied, no doubt. But I wonder if anyone will really seize on this?

Under the Roh administration, absolutely anything is possible. Communists are always corrupt and evil.
