UPDATE: Cheong Wa Dae denies the report, and says Ban has never expressed his intention to resign.
ORIGNAL POST: OhMyNews, quoting an Uri Party official, is reporting that Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon has expressed his intention to resign.
Attention is focusing on a) why and b) who next. Some suggest that the government felt it was no longer desirable for Ban to simultaneously serve as foreign minister while campaigning for the UN general secretary position. Others think Ban believed it would help his UN campaign to resign from his foreign minister position now.
As for potential replacements, Cheong Wa Dae security policy adviser Song Min-soon, Vice Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan, UN Ambassador Choi Young-jin and Uri Party lawmaker Chung Ui-yong have been mentioned.

Ban never looked good hanging out with “revolutionary boys”(운동권). He was too seasoned, too experienced to hang with ignoramuses.
With jerks supporting NK nuke and missiles around him, he cannot go far. It is best that he cut ties right now, if he wants to be a UN secretary general.
One has to choose the right crowd to hang with.
