Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Korean film remake

Sarah Michelle Gellar will reportedly star in a Hollywood remake of the 2002 Korean film “Jungdok.”

Haven’t seen the original, but if any of you have, feel free to comment.

Hollywood wants to do a remake of a movie with a plot that was probably lifted from an American TV soap opera? Brilliant.

Never heard of it. It doesn’t even make the film reviews at koreanfilm.org!

I suffered through this with the wife on DVD. Typical Korean melodrama however the premise was interesting. I don’t have much confidence in any Hollywood remakes but if they take away the corny sappiness that Koreans love so much, it might turn out pretty decent.

(Prepare to launch the sarcasm cannon!)
SWEET! I never thought they would make a 2nd movie about the Jerry Springer show!

Too bad no Jamie Presley - but Gellar is ok.

I smell a huge stinkfest with this flick. There is nothing romantic bout moving in on your BROTHER’S WIFE! Unless you enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, plastic pink flamingo lawn orniments, inbreeding, and a car up on blocks in your back yard.

Not being religious by nature, but even GOD hates white trash as evident by tornados and trailor parks.

Face it - the target audience for this film will likely wait till it airs on the Hallmark Channel as opposed to spending their beer money at the movies.

What a poopfest. I hope the “Transformers” live action movie releases against this big turd - as to improove it’s opening ticket sales.

The plot reminds me of one of the first Korean movies I saw, but darned if I can remember the title. It was about a male school teacher. The love of his life died and appears to have been reincarnated into one of his male students. So this teacher pursues a romantic relationship with this poor student who is totally confused about his teacher’s advances.

What’s the name of that movie??

I’ve seen 중독, and it’s surprisingly more okay then one’d think. The plot is thin, and a lot is left untold, but the movie was quite watchable – as 이미연 is.

Poke (#5): Wow, that seems like quite an introduction to Korean cinema! Have no idea what the movie is, though.

The movie I was thinking of is “Bungee Jumping of Their Own”. Yes, a bit of a culture shock but a good movie nonetheless.

Here’s a link to the Movist page on 중독. (Good site for Korean movie info by the way.) Like most of the people above I thought it was watchable, which given my pathological hatred for 이병헌 is a surprisingly good verdict.
