With complaints coming from some quarters that the Marmot’s Hole (and more specifically, me) has been posting too much “trash,” the website administrator would like to announce that we will be diligently working to improve the “quality” of posts in our never-ending quest to provide you, the reader, with only the best news, information and analysis of events on the Korean Peninsula.*
But first, another Western expat sex scandal. This time in China.
It seems the blog Sex and Shanghai has sparked a shitstorm in the Middle Kingdom with its descriptions of the writer’s sexual adventures with Chinese women. So outraged was a Chinese psychology professor at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences that he has launched an online campaign to have the the Sex and Shanghai writer, an Englishman, expelled from China. A translation of the professor’s blog post can be found at the second link; not only was he pissed at a foreigner making sport of Chinese women and blogging about it, but he was apparently ticked at said round-eye’s dismissal of Chinese nationalistic outrage at Japan.
My guess is he probably found his comments about “limp-dicked” Chinese men distasteful as well.
Now, you’d think that once you’ve managed to piss off several million Chinese netizens, you’d tread lightly. Not Sex and Shanghai man, however. Instead, he fired back, absolutely ripping the Shanghai Academy professor a new one. Not that it will do him much good.

* I apologize to those loyal readers who find the “trash” tiresome. But frankly, there has been a lot of trash to post, and for whatever its demerits, at least it and some of the comments it generates can be amusing to read. Which is more than I can say for North Korea policy, discussion of which is equally destructive to brain cells and not nearly as fun to read/post.

This isn’t really “trash” at all, it’s what i come to this site for — I get all the straight news from the normal sources, but stuff like this — significant socio-political trends to keep track in East Asia — i’d never hear about if it weren’t for the blogs…

If I were a Chinese intelligence specialist, I would research ways to exploit yellow fever (a well-known achilles heel of western men) to infiltrate the highest levels of western intelligence agencies to divulge secrets.

I know nobody will believe me, but “Big is not necessary good” is true. You know how in the movies that depict Victorian Era society or 1950s conservatism - the kind of movies that came out after women’s liberation, that depict the unfulfilled sex lives of the women who never got to finish? I understand their pain….
Anyway, this reminded me of something. Back in 1994 or 1993, before the ESL boom had even hit South Korea, I took some courses in TESOL that were necessary for certified teachers in the GA to get certification to teach ESL. It was a GREAT set of courses, because the vast majority of the class already had teaching experience from Korea, China, Japan, Central and South America, the Middle East, and more.
Two students were a couple. They had gone to China to teach either in the early 90s or late 1980s. The guy talked about doing some siteseeing with a Chinese man. In this one town/city (don’t know how big but not one of the biggest), he said he saw a toilet facility and went in to do his business.
As he was trying to squeeze it out, he said suddenly a head popped over the stall the disappeared. Seconds later, it popped up again and stayed a little longer.
To cut this short, he said eventually, not only did that head remain staring down at him, but it was joined by more and more and more and more and more. He said eventually his guide had to come in with some help and rescue him from what was a like a poperatzee (sp?) mob scene by escorting him out of the toilet and down the street.
He said what it was was Chinese curiosity about whether he had a big package like the stererotype said or not……They were on pecker patrol…
And maybe it was because I heard that story before I went to Korea, but I could have sworn a couple of times over the years when I was in Korea at a bar some guys had the habit of going to pee when I did or would do more than casual glance over in the pew beside me to do the same…..
And it did not take blogging or an asshole saying stupid things about Chinese or Korean men and women to build up this kind of situation.
There is much more involved here than whether the Brit or the guy in the recent Korean blog story were assholes or not…..

It is money that turns on women. If the Chinese were making $45,000 per year and the US were making $1000 per year, all China men have to do is to show up in the US. White women will take off their clothes.

The Chinese had some chances when Russia was poor, circa 1990s. I have heard of some Russian women working in China as waitresses; they “served” customers.

Robert-please keep the smutt steaming as long as it has something to do with Korea. After all, is there a blog that examines Korea effectively that can afford to leave that stuff out?
It just so happens I know a white porn star and she tells me that at least for her, white guys are where it is at because black guys are too big (think pain) and asian guys are, well, pinner (she claims the stereotype is true).
In the other hand, I knew a Canuk English teacher that let herself be used and abused by a Korean guy and I never heard her complain about performance-being dumped yes but not performance.
So, the conclusion is Canuk women are most versatile; they can accommodate different races.
I should find one Canuk woman. I liked a gal from Toronto when I was in grad school but she didn’t love me back.
Korean men didn’t have money then. But, now it is known that KoreanAmericans work hard and have more money than average Americans, some good-looking KA men are getting some winks from white gals.
Actually, to be fair, the Korean guy dumped her so while she never complained of dissapointing performance, that may have been the reason he dumped her.
So, whatever happened to bragging about your conquests to your close buddies over a cold one at the expat watering hole but telling the local men how unlucky you are with the local gals? Women are smart. They calculate future income levels of a possible mate. They do (or, their mothers tell them). Anyway, things were like that in 80s.
Things are slightly different now that women can earn good money. Still, few women want to marry men who will make less money than them.
I applaud all Asian men who enjoy sportfucking the North American Wildebeast. In fact, I don’t think us white guys are at all “deserving” of them.
