Both are former heavy drinkers. Much ink has been shed on Bush's boozing. Rho, according to interviews during the campaign, admitted there was a time when he used to get really hammered and quarrel (code word for beat) with his wife. 2. Both are unspohisticated and unabashed about their lack of sophistication to the point where one could call it their mutual trademark. 3. Both have scant to non-existant academic credentials and an aversion to intellectuals and book-learning of all kinds. 4. Both had very lackluster professional careers prior to entering politics. 5. Both beat stiff, smart opponents who were seen as presidents in waiting. 6. Both are loathed with trememdous passion by their respective opposition parties, which does't seem to faze either in the slightest. 7. Both have a knack for saying dumb things. 8. Both have approval ratings in the gutter despite fairly decent track records on their economies.
