And lest we forget Japan has its belly-slashing wackos, too…

Courtesy the Asahi Shimbun:

TSURUOKA, Yamagata Prefecture–Police investigating suspected arson that destroyed the family home of former Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Koichi Kato said Tuesday’s attack was committed by a rightist apparently angered at Kato’s remarks on the Yasukuni Shrine issue.

A 65-year-old man found collapsed on the premises apparently tried to attempt suicide by ritual disembowelment.

Did you see the “shaman” protesting at Yasukuni? She did a dance, ripped up pieces of cloth and kind of wove them together, then lit them on fire. Whatever…and right on cue, two adjumas fell to the ground bawling. This whole region is goofy :)

Man, it’s really unfair to call people like this ‘wackos’ on either side of the Sea (you know which one). After all, we don’t want to discourage belly-slicing amongst them, do we? ;)

This guy is worse than the Korean belly slicers. The Korean wackos, if I remember correctly, only inflicted damage onto themselves. This one is out to silence someone by violence, and such acts of terror on the freedom of speech should not be tolerated. I hope more information on his background is made public, like his name, the name of his rightwing organization, and eventually, some hint as to who ordered him to do it.
