Peace Given Chance in Seoul

Over the weekend, my friend Annie Shapiro and I went to an art & peace “event” at the park in Hongdae. I was pleasantly surprised. Summing up the extremely small group of peace loving folks, I realized this was my scene. It was all very kooky.

A young lady was doing some surprisingly good old-school-type rapping about how Jesus was a woman, who wore a beard “made from the hair of The Lamb.” There was performance art. It sounded kinda like two rhinoceroses knocking boots on the Serengeti. At least in my imagination. At the center of it all, was someone not talking to protest war. Which war is uncertain, given the whole not talking thing.

Before the night was up, Korean punks would walk over a perfectly good piece of art made on the spot. (It was, of course, on the ground and unprotected.) The whole night was also extremely hot and humid. So hot that only drinking soju straight from the bottle seemed to make any difference. (Did I just say that out loud?) A picture of the event after the jump.

War is Over

Could be, Andy - anyway, looks like she’s got a wiccan tan ;) You know, I’m more interested in the girl to her left.
