Wow! Thats cool how the Seoul City Hall got Pepsi to sponsor their lantern hanging (hence the giant Pepsi logo).

. . . and may the blessings of God be upon this country and all Koreans that strive to preserve the qualities that endear them to God, to one another and to all of humanity.

Congratulations Koreans!
But wasn’t the liberation day 17th April?

Korea was liberated on 17th April 1895 from the long tributary state for several hundreds years.

As the annexation by Japan in 1910 was decided between Japanese and Korean governemnts, there were no demonstraters, no riots in Korean penninsula. So they were not liberated in 1945, it was only a cancellation of the annexation.

The late ex-President Park said once that Koreans made the better choice at that time. Not the best, but there was no choice for Koreans. If they went to China or Russia, Korea is now a communist country like NK, or a county inside China like Tibet.
