I was checking the schedule of the US men’s basketball team and noticed that they are playing Korea at 3:00 on August 15 at Jamsil Gym in Seoul. It is part series of tune-up games ahead of the World Basketball Championship in Sapporo Japan in a couple of weeks. The round-robin series also included teams from Lithuania, Italy and Turkey. You can see the full schedule below.
Of course, the game will fall on Korea’s Liberation Day (or Independence Day, depending on your perspective). One cannot help but think that somebody did that on purpose. I think it will be a very interesting dynamic. I would like to think that there would be a lot of love out there (kind of like the Korea-Turkey game in the 2002 World Cup).
REQUEST: If anyone knows how to get tickets to the game, please leave a link or directions in the comments section and I will bump it up to the main post.
BTW: It looks like Couch K has the boys in game shape, which is good. I certainly don’t want to see Athens all over again.

Looks like you’ll be paying close to NBA prices for VIP seats, but even with Kobe Bryant out of the tournament, it should be worth it.
