SEOUL August issue is OUT

The August edition of SEOUL magazine has hit the stands, so dig deep into those wallets and pick up a copy.

This issue, coincidentally, marks the magazine’s third year of existence.  So as an added bonus, we’ve included a rather nice pull-out with a pen drawing of Seoul Fortress by the incomparable Kim Yeong-taek and a collection of our magazine covers since August 2003.

Of course, why bother going to the bookstore when you can just subscribe and have it delivered to your doorstep?

I imagine it’s difficult to make the transformation to a paid publication from a free monthly.

Well, considering that not too many years ago, (in the off-base clubs) guys could get laid for free by beautiful Korean babes and now they’re are paying ugly, fat Filipino chicks up to $300 per night, anything is possible.

Ignore the “are” after “they’re”. Comment editing…what a concept.

Uh, thanks for the analogy there, Nomad.

It is a good magazine, though. And getting better. Or at least I’d like to think it’s getting better.

$300 dollars is an outrage. The government is keeping prices high with its laws. Look at the Netherlands where still after all this time the price is about 50 dollars. Healthy competition keeps prices down.

Nomad, guys can still get wonderful Korean babes for free. All it takes is the right bait. :)

    Robert,

Anytime. Anytime at all. Wasn’t making a dig at the magazine…

    R. Elgin,

That may be true. These days, I fish for bass - only. Less expensive, more relaxing, and I can throw them right back as soon as I catch them.

‘Would be nice to couple of inside pages to get some feel for it.
I don’t think they sell those in the States here.

Origami—I don’t believe we sell it in the United States, but you could always buy a copy online. Many of our subscribers are overseas.

A preview function would be nice. I’ll see what we can do to impliment one.

And yes, I’m the executive editor of the magazine.
