Smack-talking N. Koreans and their useful idiot friends

The latest issue of Tongil Shinbo, North Korea’s weekly magazine for overseas Koreans, claimed that since the June 15, 2000 intra-Korean summit, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s influence has been causing great transformations in South Korea, reports the North Korean website Urimizokkkiri (via the Joongang Ilbo).

The magazine said that since the summit, Kim Jong-il has been referred to by his official title (i.e., “chairman of the defense committee”) in all South Korean government bodies from the Unification Ministry to the Defense Ministry.  It also noted that both ruling and opposition party politicians now believe that only if they visit the North and meet with Kim Jong-il can they hope to get elected president.  It said all you need to do is look at the facts to see just how decisive Kim’s authority and influence in South Korea is.

Oh, and a South Korean civic group calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Korea (here’s the homepage, but it appears down at the moment due to a flood of probably none too happy Korean netizens) threw its support behind recent North Korean claims that Pyongyang’s military-first “Songun” policy benefited South Korea.  The group said the Songun policy was “clearly the savior of South Korea,” and that it was an “objective fact” that the policy had deterred the “American imperialist invaders” from launching a war on the Korean Peninsula.  They said praised North Korea for “protecting the territory of the Fatherland of the Korean Peninsula” despite having no food to eat and no clothes to wear.

In a telephone conversation with the JoongAng reporter, the chairman of the group said, “There could be people who praise the Songun policy.  I think it’s logical and factual.”  He added that other progressive groups probably agreed but haven’t said so because there are many other contentious issues to deal with now, such as the Korea-U.S. FTA.

I was just reading the Naver.com comments. North Koreans must’ve really done their job to rile up Naver participants against North Korea and President Roh.

This explains what’s been happening in South Korea pretty well.

    flag00 says..

Why are they called ‘civic groups’? Sounds so innocuous. Rather, they should be called what they are: pro-North Korean groups, pro-communist groups or totalitarian supporters, etc.

    Snow,

The better names are “fughups”,”brain-damaged Children”, “Jongil’s kids”, “abortion-challenged”, “Korean Commies” or just plain Korean “gaesaekis”(Dog’s children).

Dog’s children? You mean puppies, right? Are they taffy eating puppies?

I think it is equivalent to “Your father was a lap dog”.

Gae that stands for a dog in Korean means a person who has morals of a dog. A man who shits in the public and humps every ass he sees. Or, just plain ugly man who behaves like an animal.

    Saeki means offspring.

GaeSaeki means “you are a dog, just like your father”. It is two insults in one, one for you and one for your parent.

I don’t know if Roh can ever admit that the “Sunshine Policy” has failed. Liberals never fail to amaze me just how naive and insipid they truely are.

It’s not like like they never heard of Nev Chamberlain.

You’d get better result banging your head against a wall then deal with Liberal’s FailedX2 policy.
