Just wanted to say I really liked these photos from Mt. Koya, Japan.

Yup, cool shots. I visited Koya-san very briefly two years ago, and was highly impressed — it’s really a magical place, the architecture of the temples and monuments is amazing. I’d love to go back and spend a week…

Beautiful, ain’t it? That’s very close to the town where I attended high school as a young exchange student at the tender age of 16. Now is a rough time to go with the humid weather, although the mountain does tend to be cooler than the steamy coastal plains.

    I didn’t think ya’d link non-Korean photos–guess I was wrong. Thanks for the support.

I’ve still got so many more photos to pour over, process in PhotoShop, and post. Probably will keep me busy for the rest of the month.

The one short time I stayed in Japan, I spend two days walking along the Nakasendo, through the Kiso River valley northeast of Nagoya. Something about those photos reminds me of the forest trails, the small shrines, the deep stillness, etc. that I encountered en route. Very nice.
