Cheers to the Chosun Ilbo for letting these forgotten survivors share their stories.

Is that story about Condoleeza and the foreign minister true, mcnutt? Do you happen to have a link? I believe you, but it'd be interesting to read the full news report of the visit.

mcnut, you aren't wrong. And the US honors them every year on the anniversary of their deaths.

The way they have been forgotten by the current regime is pathetic.

They never show up in the ceremony.

Those pro-North politicians are eager to atten Gwangju Commie celebration but they never acknowledge this incident. They hope people to forget.

Korean people will never forget. In less than two years, Korean people will kick out these Commies and take back the government.

These victims will be remembered, then, in the national ceremony and the fallen heroes will be decorated by medals.

The article was pretty skimpy, to be honest. I reminded my students of this incident a few days ago.

Does Korea generally recognize post-traumatic stress disorder?

Has Roh or any other elected official ever shown up at any of the anniversary ceremonies?

This is a new low for the Roh Administration. To sweep the whole incident under the rug and REFUSE to help these poor guys in the guise of its ridiculous policy of bowing to Kim Jong-il is reprehensible.

The rumor is that Roh and his cronies are able to name the two girls who were accidentally run over by the US bridgelayer, but cannot name any of these boys who were MURDERED by the North.

I realize that the Chosun Ilbo has its perspective but I did find the interviews to be moving and made me angry at the callous treatment these fellows had recieved from the Korean Government.
