Wartime Korea… in color

by Robert Koehler on June 28, 2006

Hat tip to Antti (via GI Korea) for linking to these amazing color photographs of Korea taken during the Korean War by Gwak Hong, a Korean-American who served as a U.S. Marine medic during the conflict.

Thanks for sharing the link. The most impressive among the photos were the shot of the back of Seoul Station with Namdaemun in the distance and the children in their New Year’s garb outside the village of straw-roofed huts.

Strange seeing pictures of a Seoul not littered with barbershop poles.

the color quality in those photos is great, not to mention a nice look into the past.
