Iraqi lawmaker Amar al-Hakim, son of Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, the head of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq and a high-ranking member of the Iraqi National Assembly, visited the family of the late Kim Sun-il, the Korean who was slain by Iraqi militants in 2004. Al-Hakim apologized to Kim’s family on behalf on the Iraqi people, noted that peace is coming to Iraq, and expressed his intention to invite the family to Iraq once things finally settle down.
Al-Hakim is in Korea at the invitation of an Uri Party lawmaker to discuss cooperation on post-war reconstruction in Iraq.

Yeah, that’s where I would like to visit.
It’s a nice gesture. But, it’s just too damn little, and way too late, to be considered sincere. If I were the victim’s family I’d insist on vengeance in some form to avenge my loss. It was a brutal, and senseless murder… even though he shouldn’t have been there to begin with…
