I got this in the mail today:
As North Korea threatens to test nuclear missiles in a move that Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice called “provocative and threatening,” Tae Kwon Do Times Magazine is reaching out to North Korea with a gesture of peace and goodwill. Tae Kwon Do Times Magazine has invited the North Korean Tae Kwon Do Demonstration team to visit the United States in October of 2006.
This will be a historic visit, which like ping pong of the 1960s, will end decades of Cold War relations. Please support this visit and help us get the word out! [Visit the Tongil blog] for more information about the visit!
Lyz Lenz, Assistant Editor, Tae Kwon Do Times Magazine
That should be interesting, unless the team members will be locked in their hotel rooms between demonstrations. I have asked for a press release and will post it here when I get it.
Here is a partial schedule of their trip. I would certainly appreciate any first-hand accounts of what goes on, especially how much genuine interaction is allowed to take place between North Koreans and Americans.

someone remind me to youtube it 4 months later for some clips.
Taekwondo for world peace!
I just hope the Nork cheerleading squad that they rolled out for the Asian games doesn’t tag along… Sure, the sight of hundreds of similarly-dressed women making robot-like movements in unison on cue might have charmed the SK set, but I can just imagine the news outlets here comparing the sight to a really creepy Robert Palmer video.
I will have to stick a post-it up or I will forget.
I am hoping that my request for the press release will get me on their email list, which would solve that problem.
best of the best 5 anyone? NK replaces SK for a more interesting plotline? XD
LOL…there’s really a Tae Kwon Do Times Magazine?

The cheerleaders won’t be going: they’re in prison in the North.
I’m sorry. That was NOT the page I meant to link.
