You absolutely have to check out Michael Fumento’s latest reporting from Ramadi, Iraq—the “graveyard of the Americans,” as the city’s graffiti proclaims. Fumento, embedded with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, provides an invaluable glimpse of the situation the troops face in the field. Don’t forget to watch his video footage as well.

I did a year-long tour in Iraq in ‘04 with the 1st Cavalry. Some of the worst experiences of my life, but it also changed me into a stronger person. Reading these stories brings back a lot of memories, both painful and good. But yeah, everyone should take a read to see some of the tought jobs the troops have to handle.
The troops are doing an awesome job.
True, more Iraqis today have died because of the Iraq war than the total under Saddam Hussein rule. But they die to bring democracy to their country. That is worth the price to pay.
Soon, democracy and freedom will flourish in post war Iraq as it had in Iran after the fall of the Shah. And we would have 2 strong Moslem nations embracing democracy and freedom. Next in line, Saudi Arabia.
