“However, South Korea will certainly have the edge in terms of stamina”?
Did this guy watch the same game I watched? I did not see even one guy in Korean team who seems to have stamina. Not even one.
Koreans looked weak, in stark contrast to 2002 squad. They were scared little children passing the ball back and forth, even with 2-1 lead. No confidence, whatsoever. They did attack, but nothing really worked. After two major counter attacks by Togo, Korean team got scared. Very, very scared.
They gave up attacking altogether and constantly passed the ball back to the keeper, who looked like a small pig. Lee Unjae needs to lose weight quick. A fat golie is a kiss of death.
France will trounce Korea by 3-0.
Obviously everybody, including Koreans, in the world knows that France is far far far better team than team Korea. And it will be very difficult game with 2006 squad.
What are the odds of winning this Sunday’s match? The odds of winning would be 1 in 100,000? More?
Still, I just can’t give up the hopes for team Korea as like millions of other Korean. Isn’t it a very natural?
I wonder how many reds would gathering around city hall or other places early in the morning.
I’d guess 2 million Koreans will be out on the streets with a few foreigners here joining them. Too rowdy for me. I’ll watch from home. And let’s hope there isn’t a riot if they lose….
I don’t think there would be riot if team Korea lose, I see so many riots over UEFA Cup, Super Bowl, NCAA matches, NBA games though.
It has already begun to an extent. There have been numerous reports of damage to public and private property - after an expected win. I don’t think there will be any problems if they lose - only if they win.
baduk, i agree that the 2006 korea team has less stamina than that of the 2002 korea team, but i believe he the article was referring to korea’s stamina compared to the french team, who is old with age, compared to the generally young and fresh legged korean team. and as for all the ahn jung hwan lovers, the reason why he isnt put in for the whole game is #1 hes not as good as he was in 2002 (i would argue he wasnt even that good back then, just a few lucky goals), and #2 he has no frickin stamina.. someone get the man an oxygen mask

Sure France have better talent, that’s obvious, but any team can have a bad day or two. In the WC anything is possible.
