As if hangin’ with Halle Berry weren’t enough

by Robert Koehler on June 15, 2006

Lee Hyori.jpgAussie actor Hugh Jackman, in Seoul to promote “X-Men: The Last Stand,” would like to meet Lee Hyori. Or so he told YTN. The actor was told during an interview with the station that the Korean singer claimed to be a fan of his when she unexpectedly showed up for a 2004 preview of “Van Helsing.” After looking at her picture, he said she was very beautiful.

He then reportedly showed particular interest in Lee’s activities, and expressed a desire to meet her.

VANKers! Fire up your PCs! We must protect Hyo-ri from Wolverine!

Maybe Hyori can play Jubilee, if there are any more X-Men movies. Or Karma if they do The New Mutants instead.

Yes, I am a nerd…

I’d suspect they’d get together and root for Australia.

There won’t be any rooting going on. Jackman is a class act and happily married (strangely enough, as I don’t rate the wife much).

I am also reportedly interested in Lee Hyori.

“It’s Roh Moo Hyun’s fault” seems to be a running joke.

Is it me, or is there something pathetic and small-time about Korean reporters always basing their interviews with Western celebs on questions about Korea (that recent Paris Hilton) or about Korean celebs?

And this is different from the questions we all get in Korea exactly how, Slim?

lol mook, its funny to me as well that this counts as news, but oh well.

Your question should answer itself, but let me count the ways for you:

1. A journalist covering a film star promoting his latest movie is not the same thing as a cab driver grilling a tourist or and college student with his English tutor.

2. This silly, trite gossip should be beneath professional newspeople (and I apply that term generously in the ROK)

3. At news conferences offering limited access for a limited time to anyone important and newsworthy, local journos who ask dumbass chopstick or Hyori questions waste valuable questioning opportunities.

…….And this is different from the questions we all get in Korea exactly how, Slim?

I want to meet her too, but only because I heard she wants to meet me. Man, it must be really nice to be super rich and demand to meet a hot chick you have a crush on.

If he can’t speak Korean, I’ll be happy to translate for him, if I get to meet her too. :P

NO! When will Hollywood actors who play comic-book superheroes stop lusting after Korean women??! Fucking A… first that half-vampire Wesley Snipes guy and now Wolfman?! Treachery! :P

“He then reportedly showed particular interest in Lee’s activities, and expressed a desire to meet her.”

Hehe, that sounds like an excerpt from a police report.
