It is reported today that the Japanese Parliment has voted for sanctions against North Korea unless North Korea renders a complete accounting of the Japanese citizens that have been abducted. <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/5074234.stm" rel="nofollow">Japanese Sanctions?<a>

Remort,
I, for one, would be thrilled to see the US pull their troops out today. My reason? My SON is sitting in TDC right this minute. Estimated time of survival is NK does something stupid? 3 minutes. Do you think I really GIVE A SHIT about anything else but my son? NO.

For those of you who believe that the U.S. ought to pull out its troops from the ROK, I hope you now rethink your stance.

It's clear that North Korea has no intention of participating in a peaceful reunification process.

Though I highly doubt the Norks will launch a pre-emptive stike, I certainly hope Japan has the fortitude to turn Pyongyang into a "sea of fire" if it indeed does.

I generally think whatever the strangest, most ironic outcome for any event in or about Korea is the most likely one to happen.

Therefore, I have to assume the DPRK is going to see how spooked it can get the United States. The Marmot may have to get ready for his close up a la Salam Pax if that happens. The American populace is worried enough as it is about the DPRK without them throwing gas on the grill by making the fine folks of Seattle collectively shit their pants.

The big difference between Iran and North Korea is that pretty much everyone in Iran knows their government is full of crap. Iranians are incredibly artistic and well educated, and many of them are quite cosmopolitian (not to mention overwhelmingly under 20) ... but there is a huge divide between the country's rulers (especially on the religious side) and its general population. I actually have hope for Iran changing its ruling class and becoming a "good" nation.

1) NK is a Chinese lap dog. SK will never be able to change this, no matter what it does. NK will attack Japan when it is told to do so by China.

2) NK attacking Japan is a win-win scenario for China.
-a) China can damage Japan without getting involved.
b) When China becomes the mediator between NK and Japan, its international prestige goes up.
c) The US may give up Taiwan, finally.
d) By damaging Japan's industrial power and/or crediting rating, China moves up. China may automatically become the number one in Asia.
e) NK gets closer to China.
f) SK chooses to support NK and, thereby, distances herself from Japan and the US.

baduk, I personally think North Korea firing one at Japan is impossible. Give me a paypal account. I will pay you $20 if that happens. I'm serious !

Probelm with North Korea is that they had this meal for nukes deal going around way back, but evertime they proved that they were untrustworthy liers. And not only that, they've conned the meal nukes program AND actually built a functional nuke.

Iran does not need meal for nukes. They're even crazier. They want to bomb out either the US or the Jews in the name of Allah. I hope the west and China knows what they're doing when they're offering electricity for nukes. If Iran lies, they won't be offered deals, either.

Somewhere down the line, the world must not offer deals for nukes.

How that can be accomplished, I do not know.

All I know is that George W. Bush is the first to not offer a trade for nukes against North Korea, and that can be viewed badly by some, but I think that's generally the way the world must steer toward to. Can't offer a deal for nukes.

Besides that, North Korea has become desparately dependent on South Korea for pity help. We need to see North Korea rely on South Korea for most and all purchases and helps, instead of those evil Chinese people, who do not have the best interest of either North or South Korea in mind. They're the ones to ultimately blame for the mere existence of North Korea.

I curse Mao and I would spit on his face.

Looking at Naver news comments, it's like tens of thousands of mini-baduks and nuljis nipping away at hated whitey and the U.S. It's great to see Koreans show their true colors without the distortions of translation, but also quite frustrating.
