Jungpyeong Village

OhMyNews ran a cool piece on Jungpyeong Village in Supyeong-ni, Ganjeon-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do. Some nice photos, too.

Looks like a pretty place, with some excellent pavilions…
    thanks for the link, Robert.

Huh, i’ve been the most areas of Gurye but never been there, to
    Ganjeon-myeon. I wonder if that dirt-road #865 continuing south
over the 768-m peak is drivable with an ordinary car — does
anyone know? Might be a great drive.

Coincidentally, i just got back from four days in Gurye & Hadong
Counties, watching the 2006 Namak-je (Neo-Confucian ceremony for
the spirit of Jiri-san) and checking out some other places. Rain
and cold wind spoiled two of the days, but the other two were great.
We saw heavy dusting of snow on all the western peaks above about
    1200 m! — it’s still not quite the good alpine-hiking season yet.

But it’s always worthwhile to explore down in that area… its
scenic and cultural wealth seem limitless.
