Oh, for the love of Christ, why won’t this story just DIE?

In due fairness, though, the Hwang story is so twisted, nothing would surprise me. Not even this.

Since everyone is tired of this Hwang story, I’d like to raise another problem with the Korea Times — in addition to its generally shoddy reporting.

I’m sure others have noticed the horrible font problems they have when using quotes. If not, take a look at this example:

“Now I am now working to post the program to the Internet. I think I will be able to finish the job soon,” Moon said.

The opening ” symbol is always fucked up and different than the end “. Now I’ve seen this happen when transferring files from different formats — for example when taking a Word file and moving it into Quark — which I think is what’s happening here.

Now if only someone at this illustrious bastion of journalism could do something about it. I can’t imagine any other “professional” publication allowing this to happen. It really makes their stories come across as even more amateur than they already are.

Hwang was sooo sexyyyy (picture “Fat Bastard” from the movie,Austin Powers, saying it) and Koreans, especially, ajummas cannot belive he was such a squandrel.

    He is.

Well, just like a love-sick puppy, some Koreans believe Hwang is being persecuted by international conspiracy. And, SNU is slowly doing turn-about-face to save Hwang and thereby maintain reputation.

Lie big and you make money! These Korean suckers deserve more flag-waving con artists. We should expect more Hwangs to appear in Korea.

I see in my first comment, the quote problems were fixed by Wordpress, or whatever powers this comment system, which is obviously superior to the system at the Korea Times.

So go to the Korea Times story — or any Korea Times story for that matter — to see the fucked up punctuation.

The Korean TV show that said American Shatten stole the patents from Korean Hwang stole its name from America’s 60 Minutes.

Face has not been saved yet. This story will continue until his suicide, and then all will be soon forgotten.

American invention history is littered with practically hundreds of cases of people who did little work but claiming glory. Schatten is the latest one.

Everybody seems to claim Marconi invented radio. But it was actually Tesla.

There was the television controversy and then there was the American inventor J. Lemelson who patented every combination in the book and sue companies for violated one of his patented combinations.
    See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome_H._Lemelson

Not to mention, that Christoper Columbus DISCOVERED America which is still being preached till this day.

Ayyy….It is a pity that today, we still have intellectual thefts like Schatten. I have high respect for this man until I read this article. Americans should impose a higher standards on their ethics, if not, the whole country would be disgraced.

I used to have high regards for American inventors, and I still believe many are still very good inventors. But the black sheep among some will cause world opinion about them to falter.

American atheletes already suffered from illegitmacy since the exposure of the US Olympic committee doping scandal coverupsinvolving athletes like Carl Lewis by Dr. Exum that eventually led to the stripping of doping tests administration from the USOC to the US anti-doping agency. See : http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/stories/s155405.htm

Now, it is getting another blow to its intellectuals which is not a fair impression over the hard work that other Americans are doing. A nation’s progress must be achieve through a procedure of high morality, and not one gained through shameless cheatings and manipulation.

This is not a new story folks. Egg thieves have been around for along time just look at the similarities to this story

    http://www.luisrey.ndtilda.co.uk/html/ovinew.htm

…a string of accusations by H.F. Osborn from the American … in the 1920’s he thought that the eggs found ….were from Proto… … For many years it went unnoticed until in recent times a new expedition found an … embryo inside an egg assumed to be … Proto…

Don’t you all see? Proto is protosynthesis which is the Latin word for cloning.

Read the story and substitute Hwang Woo-suk for Oviraptor. It is him, I tell you it is him..!

A more dramatic discovery followed: a freeze-frame scene in time of Hwang Woo-suk in the act of protecting his nest, arms embracing at least twenty of his own eggs. This discovery has reivindicated this animal the epitome of the true “good mother” scientist.

Hwang should be referred to by his new name: Oviraptor
