Server issue, Part II

Sorry for the lack of posting. Work got pretty busy, and I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on with my server.

Anyway, deactivating plugins and going back to the default template had little effect on my resource usage. At this point, I’m at a total loss. My host, Lunarpages, has been good enough about the whole thing, but nobody seems to know what the issue is. Is is curious that the blog was stripped to its bare minimum and still eating a ton of resources.

We’re going to try a couple of other measures to see if they are effective. In the meantime, it’s blogging as usual, at least until the issue is resolved or I’m kicked off my server.

Since you’re with LP, you should be able to setup at least 2 more blogs (maybe more depending on your plan).

Can you setup a test blog in a different direcotry, set it up with the same WP install, plugins, etc., just don’t import the SQL DB, and see how it goes?

Face it; this blog is just too damn famous and has too damn many enemies.

If you need to change your host provider, I would recommend Kaleton Internet, which I use myself. Their starter package is only 8.95 USD per month, but it includes support for PHP, MySQL, 50 MB disk space, and other goodies, which should be sufficient for running a Wordpress blog. They use dual processor P4 2.4 GHz Linux platform servers.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind should I get evicted. I’m hoping to avoid having to move again, however.
