The Future’s So Bright…Oh, Nevermind

Let’s we here in the ROK get to know the views of one Bishop W. Bower Jr., late of Clarkridge, Arkansas, shall we?

Mr. Bower believes that there is one, quick way to end the lingering A-bomb crisis festering up in the cold, dark DPRK. For those of you who live in probable target areas — you might need go shopping for sunglasses, ’cause you gotta a very, very bright future ahead of you.

We should furnish South Korea with an atomic bomb and all the necessary materials needed and the firm OK to take North Korea out.

Drop the bomb on the heaviest military concentration, and, at the same time South Korea is taking out North Korea, give the OK to Israel to take out Iran the same way. Drop the atomic bomb on their heaviest military facilities. The United States would then inform the rest of the world to stay out of this and we will take care of it, and we definitely mean stay out of it.

Let these two countries wallow in their own destruction for 60-90 days, then go in and help the survivors rebuild their countries and install democracy.

Easy there, big fella! One man’s “let these two countries wallow in their own destruction for 60-90 days” is another man’s, “Damn, that would suck for me. I know the subway is supposed also be a bomb shelter and stuff, but 60-90 days is a long, long time.”

But wait, there’s more, Sparky!

This may sound harsh, but look at it this way we did not start World War II with Japan, we ended it. We did not start this war with these rogue countries, so let’s end it with the smallest amount of American lives as possible.

Sound harsh? Sound harsh! I’ll say!

With all do respect to Mr. Bower, it’s thinking such as that that has caused the rest of the world to seeth in anger against America and everything it stands for. Just cause someone ain’t got a little blue American passport, doesn’t make their life any less valuable.

This guy’s not an actual bishop is he? This must be some sort hyperbolic moral sermon right? I suppose ‘the Bishop’ will be the first on the ground to care for the sick and the dying too. I also seem to remember my great-grandfather and his son, my grandfather, already fought in 2 separate ‘wars to end all wars’.

Why did you bother linking to such a crank? You must really be desparate for attention.

It was a letter to the editor and I found it illustrative of a certain worldview that was worth looking at. Some people honestly just see any life outside of the United State’s as less worthy of protecting. It’s both chilling and amusing in a “Holy crap!” kind of way.

The guy isn’t a “Biship” as far as I can tell. He’s just Southern.

Don’t worry Shelton, we’ll make sure there’s a 120 day supply of Depends available in the subway shelter.

Unless these things are an actual safety hazard to motorists (and I never thought they were, but I could be wrong), I don’t see the point in removing them. It’s not as if people were protesting their existence (most people to whom I pointed these out had no idea what they were).

It distresses me a bit that the far-leftist Roh government seems at times to be so thoroughly fixated on dismantling as much of ROK security as possible.
