Spewer: "Nothing in either my or Mizar5?? quips indicates any miapprehension on our part that you are anywhere except safely cowering outside the ROK."

Obvious enough, Sperwer, but the reason I let it slide is that to totally demolish an opponant when you're enjoying the repartee too much is like burning your house down to catch a fly. I'd rather toy with the fly.

Kushibo: "When Mizar5 said Bluejives should send a picture of himself cringing in his radioactive foxhole still able to laugh his ass off, it seemed he, too, thought that Bluejives was in Korea."

Let's get this straight: Bluejives assumes an assumption on Mizar's part, while Sperwer for his part counters Bluejives' assumption with his own assumption, and Kushibo then takes part in topping Sperwer's counter-assumption with two new coutner-assumptions of his own, aimed in all directions.

If I'm not mistaken, this is what we call multidirectional misdirection...

Let me make some assumptions of my own here. Wasn't Bluejives implying cowardice, and therefore disingenuousness on the part of tough-talking expats' by assuming their unwillingness to linger in a nuclear war zone?

And if willingness to linger in a nuclear war zone is his standard for ingenuousness, and we may be expected to infer that Bluejives is not so disingenuous himself, wouldn't this imply a willingness on his part to come here for the fireworks himself?

Kushibo: "Let?? put an end to the Mizar5-Bluejives axis of frivol."

Mizar: You don't seem to be trying very hard Kushibo. The attempt to act as a father figure having failed, I rather enjoy it when you join the kids in the sandbox and get your hands dirty. It's rather like watching the tophat knocked off an opera-goer's head, which is one means of providing frivolity to the criminally insane.

this thread makes a strong case for how the second law of thermodynamics applies to debate.

bluejives reminds me of nulji when he was sniffing around and not making any sense.

mizar continues to make good sense but has devolved into someone who cares what bluejives spiels.

kushibo seems like he's got way too much time on his hands these days and is stuck inside a fishbowl.

anyway, just thought i'd add to the fray.

I probably shouldn't be getting into this, but from this exchange:
Bluejives:
When the shitstorm brews, I??l watch the tough-talking expats flee SK like rats scurrying from a sinking ship and laugh my ass off.

Sperwer:
I?? sure they??l be right behind you.
...I thought you (Sperwer) were suggesting that all the tough-talking expats fleeing the carnage in South Korea would be right behind Bluejives, a bigger chicken running as fast as he can to get the evac center.

When I first read this, I thought from this that you were suggesting Bluejives was in Korea, where he would be affected??nd run like a chicken from??ny shitstorm that came down.

When Mizar5 said Bluejives should send a picture of himself cringing in his radioactive foxhole stilla ble to laugh his ass off, it seemed he, too, thought that Bluejives was in Korea.

Unless I'm completely missing that South Korea is a metaphor for Canada. ;)

Seriously, though, I guess on second read, since you are saying you didn't mean he was in South Korea, you might have meant that the tough-talking expats would be "right behind" Bluejives as in, they would come around to his point of view.

BLUE JIVES:

Spewer: I?? sure they??l be right behind you.

Mizer: ??e sure to mail me a picture of you cringing in your radioactive foxhole and still managing to laugh your ass off at the idiots who were stupid enough to leave the sinking ship.

You ASSume that I live in Korea. Wrong??GAIN.

Nothing in either my or Mizar5's quips indicates any miapprehension on our part that you are anywhere except safely cowering outside the ROK. Your feeble attempt to distract attention from your own obvious status as a pogue by making believe otherwise is just more reason to consign you to the bin. Plonk!

Just for clarity's sake, I advised both of you to refrain from personal attacks.

Both of you attempt to make reasoned points pertinent to the discussion, but you both have this tendency to end them with a pointed attack at the person, rather than the argument. Sometimes these are spread throughout the comment.

Granted, there are times when it is necessary to criticize a certain poster for a style or behavior they have employed, but you both have gone way beyond anything like that. I certainly have no right to make you stop, but I do have the right to put in my two cents and say that I personally find it annoying.

Anyway, for the record, I was suggesting that you're both behaving childishly. You two are both part of the same metaphysical unity.

Let's put an end to the Mizar5-Bluejives axis of frivol.

Mizar:Because I?? not some solipsistic little fart who gets off on justifying arbitrary personal views, but rather someone who honors the truth of a matter, wherever the facts may lie.

A sure sign of someone on the losing end of a debate is one who allows himself to get sidetracked from the issue and resort to what is clearly ad hominem bluster. Thanks for proving that observation once again, Mizar.

I?? always grateful to stand corrected when I?? mistaken.

Don't make me laugh.

All it takes to convince me is valid evidence and rigorous logic as opposed to opinionated puffery and rhetoric.

You are entitled to your own petty, little orthodoxies. But your obnoxious intolerance for opposing viewpoints fouls the mood.
