UPDATE 1: Here’s the lowdown on the remaining three protesters, from Simon World:
In short, one is the vice president of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions - he is not a farmer. Another belongs to the Korean Peasant’s League, although he only began farming in 2003 and spends at least some of his time working as a video and film producer. The last is a cucumber farmer, KPL member and has a heart problem. In short, all are professional protesters - they are free on bail, due in court again March 1 and are going back to South Korea tomorrow. See ya.
ORIGINAL POST: Hong Kong authorities have apparently freed eight of the 11 Korean protesters being held in the city, reports the Korea Herald. Not that this pleases the remaining three:
The three defendants still being charged said in a statement, "We are furious the Hong Kong government did not drop all the charges against us."
Gotta love ‘em.

Wonder if the actors had anything to do with it
They’re looking at possibly five years in the Big House if convicted, and no Buddha’s birthday get out of jail free card.
On a slightly related note, I saw that Taiwan and China are limiting the airtime for Korean dramas…and what can S. Korea, with its movie quota system, really say about that? Damn, globalization’s a bitch.
I’m so disappointed. They should all be kept in jail, not just the “professional” demonstrators (ie violent lobbyists with weapons).
Yea, I’m also amused by countries that are going to limit air time for Korean drama’s and am looking forward to reading about the same people who created such a law in Korea (although it’s since been removed now that it’s job is finished) complaining about the tables being turned on them.
