Domain name

I’ve got myself a domain name and mapped it to this site.  This means that in the event that I should ever decide to change blogging software or webhosts–as I am want to do–there will be no need to change your links.  Which is nice.  Anyways, the new domain name is:

http://www.rjkoehler.com

As you have no doubt noticed, the blog will come up for both http://marmot.blogs.com and http://www.rjkoehler.com.

Good idea, Robert. Something I may look into as well.

Actually, one of the reasons I’ve chosen to get the domain is because I’ve also gotten space with Yahoo!’s Small Business hosting. Can’t really go wrong with 5GB of storage and 200GB of monthly bandwith for $8 a month. Beats the hell out of Typepad’s 20GB of bandwidth, which is just not going to cut it. And Yahoo autoinstalls MT, which makes life a lot easier.

Hmmmmm. I ‘m currently using over 30 gig bandwidth a month but luckily, typepad hasn’t started charging for going over - yet.
I just checked out the link you provided…sounds really good. Once I find out in the next few weeks if I’ll be staying here in Korea, I think I’ll go ahead and make that move I’ve been dreading for the last few months. I was also checking out Lunarpages - their $7.95 per month plan offers 3GB storage and 400GB monthly bandwidth plus a buttload of features I’ll never use. Once you start playing around with the Yahoo service, please let me know what you think, ok?

Forgot to add something: The domain name - is that the one from Yahoo, or did you go out and register that with another registrar like pairNIC?

What’s the upshot? Should I be updating my blogroll to link to rjkoehler.com instead of blogs.com?

    Thanks, BTW, for the blogrolling.

    Happy Nude Deer,

Happy New Years to Marmot and his gang!!!

May you eat many dogs in dog year and doggone any who bashes the art of dog consumption. (BTW I’ve never had the courage to try dogs myself ;-)

I’ve been using Lunarpages for a couple of years now and am very happy with the $7.95 plan, and the service. It includes Fantastico with Nucleus, pMachine Free, and WordPress. A good deal.

    At any rate, ?? ? ?? ?????!

Alleluia! Praise the Lord. Now I won’t have to wonder where the Marmot’s Hole has been burrowed into when you change your host, as you are prone to doing.
