Random N.K. news pics

And to celebrate the women of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea:

  • The KCNA (via Yonhap) recalled the moving tale of Kim Yong-ok, who recently recovered from successful plastic surgery in China to repair her severely burned face.  Kim, a naval educator who apparently teaches sailors about preserving revolutionary slogans (no, I’m not joking), suffered severe burns as she tried to protect from a blaze a tree on which were carved slogans praising Kim Il-sung.  The KCNA revealed pictures of Kim before and after surgery (see link), as well as a letter Kim wrote to North Korean head honcho Kim Jong-il thanking him for picking up the tab.
  • Ooo, female traffic cops.
  • OK, so North Korea might have reasonably cute masseuses in Pyongyang public bathhouses.  But do they provide the same kind of services?

I wonder how many trees KJI and his posse have tagged in Norklandia….

    Ooo, female traffic cops.

What is it with North Korean authority figures and giant hats (the two men on either end are South Korean military personnel with normal-sized hats)?

Somehow I think this is all the Americans’ fault.

Speaking of women in North Korea, the dear leader’s musings on Cunnilingus in North Korea may be of interest.

I really find it sad when revolutionary slogans have been forgotten by the youngsters of today.
