The Ministry of Unification would like you to know that contrary to earlier media reports, Comrade Unification Minister Chung Dong-young was NOT bombarded by eggs thrown by angry Korean-Americans during during a meeting Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles. The ministry did say there was a protest, but that reports of an egg salute were groundless. It also warned that it would react strongly to the misreports.
The Dongnip Shinmun, meanwhile, carried some video footage of the protest.
And while we’re on the subject of the unification minister, the Kukmin Ilbo (Korean) and JoongAng Ilbo (English) are reporting that former MDP lawmaker Choo Mi-ae is being discussed as a possible replacement for Comrade Chung, who is expected to resign his post soon to return to the ruling Uri Party.

All right, who dropped the ball on this one?
They knew where he was, they had access to eggs… what happened?
Or is this just a bad time to be doing something controversial with eggs?
How dare he as the representative of a foreign govt. address the citizens directly and argue o for a policy contrary to that adopted by their own elected government! Oh, it’s not Lefkowitz? It’s a Korean named Chung? That’s OK, then, I guess under the special dispensation for special people.
Should we be happy he is leaving that position or are we going to have to brace ourselves for 2 years of Chung touting himself in the news?
On the plus side, once Comrade Chung steps down we won’t have to listen to his idiocy as minister of “unification”–on the minus side, we’ll have to listen to his idiocy as a presidential candidate.
Just remember, in the next election, you old folks don’t need to vote, just stay home and rest!
I would be honored to donate my eggs to any social researcher interested in chucking them at this fool. I only regret that I am not an ostrich.
