Korean rioters’ world tour on Swedish TV

(By guest blogger, Andy Jackson)

Even if you don’t understand Swedish, you will enjoy this montage of Korean riot footage.  Just follow these directions:

When on the Studio 24 site, click on the link "se senaste programmet", and then on the link "Studio 24 tisdag" (only Real Player). Fast forward 10 minutes and 15 seconds.

BTW, I found out about the program because the producer told me that they quoted my blog in it.  Fast forward to 13:48 to hear what "Flying Yangban" sounds like in Swedish.

I guess one good thing about being a guest blogger is that you can sound your own trumpet on two blogs.

Western protesters at WTO meetings tend to focus on farmers in far-off Malawi and such, who don’t have two cents to rub together due to unfair trade situations. Great. However I can’t help but note the irony of Korea’s ‘poor farmers’ who can en masse, hop a flight to HK in order to take a dip in Kowloon harbour.

These guys seem to excel at stealing the limelight and drawing attention to their ’special case’ while not giving a toss about much poorer farmers elsewhere. I wonder what would have happened had the Hong Kong police not fished them out…can you spell ‘hjalp!’ in English?

I find it amusing that they showed and old farmer in a coolie hat plowing a field with a water buffalo. Where in this country is THAT still practiced? I’ve rideen up and down, east and west of this country on my motorcycle for a few years and have yet to see that.
