Somebody emailed me from Japan inquiring whether this young lady, a bikini model and occasional AV star, was actually Korean, and whether she had been mentioned here in Korea. She has a Korean name, Young-mi, but she also goes by the Japanese name Emi Kitani and a porn name, Reina Mizuki. Anyway, I haven’t seen anything on her in Korean, but she’s done some Korean-themed photo books (link may or may not be work safe) like Hwan Saeng and Sexy Seoul. She could be born in Japan, holding South Korean citizenship, having a Korean father and a Japanese mother in which case she is still a Zainichi Korean to the Japanese. I’m guessing that’s the case here.
To settle this argument, have her close her eyes as you place an identically sized mirror and portrait of Yonsama next to each other in front of her.
Tell her to open her eyes.
If she looks at Yonsama first, she’s Japanese. If she looks at the mirror first, she’s Korean.
