The Song of the Ex-pat in Korea:

If you're bitter and you know it, dis Korea!! "Kimchi Sucks!"
If you're shallow and you know it, dis Korea!! "Kimchi Sucks!"
If you really hate Korea,
But you?€™ve got nothing better back home,
If you suck that bad, dis Korea!! "Kimchi Sucks!"-

I'm from australia, where the air is fresh, the sky is blue, the winter is mild and the summer is a little hot , but not too bad. Lets be honest, who is in korea for anything other than the money, or the adventure (in your first year when korea is still interesting and exciting)?

Before criticizing the "unlivability" of Korea, where the heck are you guys from? Korea is one of the nicest place to live on earth. Sure there's the humid summer, and I think that is the only downside. The winter is milder than many places, in fact, because the summer's humid, thank God the winter's dry, otherwise it'd be even more painful. We still have four seasons, and that's huge. We don't get Katrina-like cyclones, we don't have earthquakes, we don't have volcanoes, we don't have four-month monsoons, we don't have 5-month snow...

What the hell are you guys talking about?

I've noticed that, out in the countryside, as well as in the mountains right behind the Blue House, wild pigs have made a big comeback. I was going to go out walking up one mountain way down south last week but a farmer warned me not to go, mentioning the boars.

I think it is time to buy some antique Korean boar hunting spears and go hunting since the authorities will not allow one to make use of a rifle for such a problem. Maybe a wild boar hunt with campfire feasts would be an interesting tour package for Koreans?

Here is a picture of one of the few things that is lovely in the winter -- mingam berries.

Korea is most liveable in the Fall and Spring and also the most beautiful to get out and see the country. Outside of those 3-4 months of relative bliss, it is not the mmost pleasant place to live.

I just stay in Korea for the money and convenience. The weather is terrible. Short winters and humid summers are not my cup of tea.
