North Korea’s Pyongyang Broadcasting today blasted USFK for spreading cultural corruption in South Korea. Of course, USFK does deserve at least some of the blame leveled at it in the piece — if introducing disco music isn’t a violation of international human rights laws, I don’t know what it. That being said, get a load of this:
It claimed USFK influence over the last 60 years eroded the unique speech, writing, dress, food culture and lifestyle of the Korean people. “U.S. soldiers indulge in bestial sexual assaults against South Korean women, and have polluted the bloodlines of our race, which remained unbroken for 5,000 years, and sullied the purity of the race,” it said.

Now, some may recall a bit of debate concerning the use of the term ???????????? ??????????? by Uri Party lawmaker Chang Young-dal recently (see comments). Pyongyang Broadcasting’s use of the term, however, leaves no such ambiguity as to the meaning.
Anyway, while I in no way consider myself an expert in contemporary North Korean social discourse, this seems to be something of a meme north of the 38th parallel — some of you might recall the KCNA’s use of almost identical rhetoric in a December 2003 piece:

Just lovely, although granted, in a country where the babies of repatriated refugees are reportedly killed if they are suspected of having Chinese fathers, one doesn’t expect much in terms of cultural sensitivity in the state-run media.
Of course, then again, perhaps the KCNA just has a RSS feed for the Marmot’s Hole’s “Stupid Foreigner Tricks” section.

Why does everybody keep assuming that the Korean masses are rational beings who can be shown the painfully obvious nature of Mr. Kim’s odious regime and change their tune?

May I suggest an addition to your translation, “U.S. soldiers indulge in bestial sexual assaults against South Korean women”? I think it retains more of DPRK’s unique flavor to say, “As if it was their job, US soldiers engaged in bestial sexual assaults against SK women”
I also thought that translating “??±?…¸????°œ” as sexual playthings is toning it down a bit. I think it’s better to be more direct–sextoys. Sorry if i’m being overly anal and not really contributing to anything meaningful.

These Commies are directly quoting NK broadcast. How dare they? They used “??¼?²´”(ownership) frequently in the past. Now the word is “??œ???”(racial purity).

The hybrid car, robots and chips you mention are all “topping off” existing technologies.
