I think Incheon is a great airport -- I love it. I had the lucky experience to have left from Kimpo and returned through Incheon, the week it opened. Still had that "new airport smell".

Dogbert wrote:i dunno about that. how many other of the worlds top 20 airports can you walk straight out without having to go through a customs check? it certianly makes things quicker, especially if you have your suitcase full of things that might otherwise be restricted.Dogbert, I wasn't knocking Inchon International. I was making a comment about savoy's dig that Inchon International is "the only clean municipal facility in the whole damn country." Sure, if you don't count all the others.

savoy, its in the high end of normal here i think. i'm actually in a reginal city in the south of the country, but i don't know if it changes that much in different locations. considering the work that i have to do its a pretty good salary i think. especially when you consider what you would have to be making to have that level of income after tax and accommodation in a western country. Not exactly executive salary, but then again its certainly not executive work.

Kushibo,

i dunno about that. how many other of the worlds top 20 airports can you walk straight out without having to go through a customs check? it certianly makes things quicker, especially if you have your suitcase full of things that might otherwise be restricted.

The length of Gen. LaPorte's "tenure" is proof-positive that the ROK is truly the last stop on the train - when KS wiggles into THE discussion...Korea is yesteryear's news. To me, all Korean geo-political discussions involve the US...where as, the same-type US discussions involve the Peninsula only as an after-thought..."oh yes, the Korean issue..."

Who really cares...those who have been here tooo long? Or, those who have not been here long enough.

BTW, ICN was ranked #3 in Forbes' top 20 international airports. I'll give them that one. And it's the only clean municipal facility in the whole damn country.

I say pop smoke and let them settle it outside some 7-11 at four o'clock in the morning...

On a personal note, just what do ESL instructors make in the ROK? I am forever hearing they make "good money"...what do ESL instructors consider "good money"? I'm talking net here.
