Biggus Dickus at Jeju Loveland

The blogger who runs gdimension posted some photographs of, ahem, off-color art at Jeju Island’s Loveland.

Gdimension, BTW, is a very nice photoblog documenting Jeju Island, where the very lucky blog administrator resides.

It’s frustrating. I’ve actually never had a problem logging on to my own site, but recently (since Friday) other regular readers have. I’m currently in contact with typepad.com trying to see if they can figure out what is going on…

One strike against it being a recent, government-created “kibosh on Typepad” is that some people here on Jeju have been unable to access the site for over a month.

    Weird and wild stuff.

It looks like our fearless Ministry of Propaga… oops, I mean Information and Communication, has put the kibosh on Typepad again. I can’t get this nor Iowahawk without using Unipeak. Does anybody else notice this?

BTW, that place reminded me of certain Shinto shrines in Japan, expecially one somewhere between Gifu and Nagoya. You’ve never seen phalli so huge.

Blogspot, too. Thanks, People’s Participatory Government!

In China, I’ve never been able to get blogspot or blog-city. But at least I can get Typepad.

Who is censoring this? I tried this unipeak and it worked. Is this really true? I thought the Koreans only censored N.Korean sites?

Apparently they don’t like giant representations of human genitalia, either.

I also can’t get through from my home SK connection. I will be calling SK tomorrow.

I was just about to log in and ask if anyone else was having problems getting into typepad and blogspot when I saw these remarks.

Anyone know the justification for this (as lame as it likely is)? These two blog domains are awfully big to be blocking in their entirety. I know that Jodi can be controversial, but does it warrant blocking all of typepad?

As much as you’ve got a great subversive site, G, I don’t think it’s about you. It’s a blanket ban (yes, Blogspot as well). Last time it was a vain attempt to keep the beheading video of Kim Sun-il off the web. I wonder what gives now — before and after shots of Roh’s eye surgery?

Kushibo I don’t think anyone knows for sure. I was blocked on Friday at about 630pm -suspiciously fits with the theory that access would be blocked until Tuesday morning? Something related to the holiday maybe? Some folks have theorized it might be related.

    Touch??.

Seriously, though, if it is a blanket ban, why am I and some others able to access the sites without a problem? Would it be only some ISPs blocking the sites, while others don’t? If so, could it really be on orders from the government?

I use Thrunet and no problems so far. Knock on wood.

I’m using KT Megapass for what it’s worth.

Maybe they’re worried about something embarrassing the Norks?

I’ve been on three different computers in three different regions of the country using three different ISPs, and they’re all blocking typepad.com and blogspot.com.

I’m using Hanafos, and have clicked on the gdimension link a couple of times today - no problems getting G’s blog to load from here.

Just tried tried Kushibo’s blogspot blog, and that loads from Hanafos out in Incheon, too. (Note: this should not be misconstrued as a compelling reason to move to Incheon.)

It does not work through my Kornet connection either but then these are the same people that dump spam e-mail directly into my account on the mail server.

Maybe my blog is subversive because of the Corea post.

    I thought this was funny.

Also I don’t know what you’re talking about with any sites being blocked. Everything is loading here (HanaFOS).

anyhow, if you do have trouble accessing blocked sites go to: http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html

Confirmed. Kornet is blocking the site. I put the URL into the above “anonymouse.org” page and it loaded.
