Wouldn??t it be great if the authorities, instead of chasing penises, devoted some time to citing all the fire, health, and safety violations in Seoul?
That’ll happen at the same time they start enforcing traffic laws here.
(The police will) ??expand our investigation into unhealthy and corrupt performance venues and related businesses near Hongik University.”
So now we have a morality squad on the loose. It must be that “well-being” fad I guess.
I find it pretty funny that at home (UK) something like this probably wouldn’t even make the papers. Indie is old, rock stars exposing themselves is old, and we have Roy Chubby Brown and Bernard Manning to shock the old ladies.
That said, for Korea I guess these guys are pushing the boundary somewhat. I for one salute them. Rock on lads! Anarchy in the R.O.K!
Well, I agree. We have no experience of sex pistols show so far. It’s still a confucian society though and people need more training to get used to this kind of fuss. But, I’m not sure whether anarchism would be welcomed in UK in this time of terror on UK citizens.
foreigner : My point is that -
First, I don’t like mention the place such as Baghdad of today where my brothers - along with yours - are risking their lives daily as an ally to express any sarcasm. I quoted New York, and as you know, it’s a city famous crime rates and there NYPD is also wasting their precious resources for some trivial cases. Your mentioning of Seoul authority smacks of some sarcastical intention and I felt that you could have been fairer than this.
The reason I joined this blog is because I felt that here I could share many things with many from various countries objectively - so I wish you can be more rational when you want to express your criticism and it would help me listen to you more carefully. Do I make myself clear now?
Kleintag, I hope your weekend was pleasant. There’s a lot of crime in Seoul, including health code violations (remember the mandu made with rancid meat?), building code violations, fire traps that do not get cited, and on and on. I wasn’t talking about police. Yes I was being sarcastic (it’s a tried and true rhetorical device), no I couldn’t be fairer, I don’t know what you mean by “share many things with many from various countries objectively,” there’s no such thing as objectivity in this context, I’m quite rational, thank you, and you have made yourself clear.
foreigner :
What I mean ‘objectivity’ is to get more rational through this kind of discusstion with you and others with various nationalities. While reading your comment, there came many thoughts - what’s wrong with my own comments and what’s needed to be clearer, etc. With this procedure of adaption, I hope to position myself standing on more rational and proved facts and thoughts. And though I don’t like any form of sarcasm, I myself seem to obviously have depended on the method - for that part, I apologize you for that.
And thank you for your warm beginning of comment with weekend stuff. I helped me much to calm down.
Anyway, my intention was to point out that there are many similar cases in the big city around the world - as far as I have experienced.
I hope you also had a good weekend with your precious ones. My weekend was good except for some stress related to treatise translation
Kleintag, all I was getting at is that there are some misplaced priorities here (on the part of the government). I know it’s difficult to express yourself in a second language (it’s an aspect of my job), and I never make fun of that. Also I’m more brusque when I’m commenting here–in real life I’m more like Yonsama…OK, I’m being sarcastic again, sorry.
It is no wonder the ladies that work the red light districts are feeling bold enough to come back to work-with the police focused on such obviously more important and pressing matters that would undoubtedly harm the nation…

I saw many young Koreans (include girls) got naked during the FIFA WC 2002.

Sorry… I have an aliteration fetish.

Anyway what is clear is that you can take a safer walk here in Seoul than in New York.

famous crime rates - famous for its high crime rates
In case of my misunderstand your context, then I will readily apologize you for my comment.
